The Bad Cop series tries to blend mass entertainment with long-format storytelling, though some might argue it’s like asking a T20 specialist to play Test cricket.

The series kicks off with a wild and unexpected encounter in a shady hotel room, featuring some jaw-dropping one-liners by Gulshan Devaiah. The abrupt tonal shifts add to the show’s tension and unpredictability.

Bad Cop balances its crime-fueled narrative with themes of revenge and redemption. The cinematography and background music are top-notch, enhancing the overall viewing experience. The show also boasts some surprising twists that keep viewers hooked.

While Gulshan Devaiah, who impressed last year in Dahaad and Guns & Gulaabs, shines in his dual role, the show doesn’t fully utilize his talents. Anurag Kashyap, as Kazbe, is clearly enjoying himself, delivering an entertaining performance. Saurabh Sachdeva, of Animal fame, brings an intimidating presence that keeps viewers on edge.

Overall, Bad Cop might not be groundbreaking, but it’s an entertaining watch from start to finish. Bad Cop isn’t bad.
