MG Motor India has increased prices of the Comet EV by up to Rs 13,000. It’s important to note that the Exclusive and Excite with fast charger received price hikes of Rs 11,000 and Rs 13,000, respectively. The Exclusive variant gets more expensive by Rs 11,800. The MG Comet EV’s other variants (including the EverGreen limited edition) continue to come at the same price tags as before. Now, it’s available within the price range of Rs 6.99 lakh – Rs 9.40 lakh.
Earlier this year, MG Motor India announced a price cut on its entire product lineup to celebrate its anniversary year. With this price reduction, the MG Comet EV was priced between Rs 6.99 lakh – Rs 8.58 lakh (ex-showroom). Its entry-level Pace variant witnessed a price reduction of Rs 99,000, while the Play and Plush trims became affordable by Rs 1.40 lakh. Before this price cut, the electric small car was priced from Rs 7.98 lakh to Rs 9.98 lakh.
In March 2025, the MG Comet EV model lineup was rejigged with the introduction of a faster charging option. The Pace, Play and Plush trims were renamed to Executive, Excite and Exclusive, respectively. However, the fast charging option was made available only with the higher Excite and Exclusive trims.
The powertrain setup of the Comet consists of a 17.3kWh battery and a single electric motor mounted on the rear axle. The motor pushes out a maximum power of 42bhp and 110Nm of torque. The small electric car offers an ARAI-certified range of 230km. Its arch rival, the Tiago EV’s entry-level MR variants is available with a 19.2kWh battery and a front axle mounted electric motor. It delivers an ARAI-claimed range of 250km.
Despite being a small EV, the MG Comet offers several advanced goodies including over 55 connected features, keyless entry, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering mounted controls, three USB ports, tyre pressure monitoring system, reverse camera and sensors and more.
