It’s no surprise that if you’d ask someone what they hate most about movie nights at theaters, the answer’s gonna be how much they paid for the popcorn. People end up spending more on popcorn than the movie ticket itself and the theaters love to exploit our love for munching while watching a movie. What if I tell you that the popcorn mafia is going to enter your bedrooms soon.
Netflix and chill is the cheap alternative to movie dates and let’s be honest, they can be as good as going to theaters. However, Netflix didn’t like how we’re saving money this way and introduced their very own popcorn so that they can also get a share of our usual date budgets just like the theaters.

Netflix has partnered with Indiana Popcorn and introduced two flavors of popcorn which will be available at Walmart. Each bag of popcorn costs $4.49 so if you have a date and buy two bags, you end up spending more than the monthly subscription cost.
Well jokes apart, this can be seen as a brilliant marketing move because it will take the brand name places. Not only would the company get into a new business but it would also be an impactful way to advertise. AMC has already done this after theaters suffered losses.
