“O Manchi Ghost” (OMG) which is made in horror comedy genre has created a good buzz among the audience. Vennela Kishore and Nandita Shweta are acting in this movie, so there are good expectations about this movie. Directed by Shankar Marthand, this film has been released in theaters today. Let’s see how this movie fares in the review.

Story:

Chaitanya (Rajat Raghava), Pavuram (Shakalaka Shankar), Razia (Navami Gayak) and Laxman (Naveen Neni) are in dire need of money. They all try to make money together. In this sequence, Chaitanya makes a plan to earn money in a short time. He kidnaps his cousin Kirti (Nandita Shweta) along with the other three. However, they don’t know one secret to fame. What happens in this sequence is the story of the movie.

Plus Points:

The twist of Nandita Shweta’s character brings something new to the film. The story progresses interestingly with some comedy scenes in the first half. Vennela Kishore and Shakalaka Shankar will make the audience laugh with their comedy.

Although this movie has a low budget, the quality of the VFX works make it a high budget movie. The background score by Anup Rubens is good to match the scenes. Nandita Shweta and Navami Gayak impressed with their good acting.

Minus Points:

Although the story of this movie has an interesting aspect, the way it is presented feels routine. With more focus on horror-comedy, the audience will lose interest in the film. There is nothing new in the screenplay. Vennela Kishore and Shakalaka Shankar seemed to have tried to push with their roles. The characters of Rajat Raghava and Naginidu are not impressive at all.

Like other horror movies, this one also has a flash back episode. But, it does not create any emotion. The title of this movie could not do justice. Had the flashback episode been handled better, it would have had a better effect on the story. The routine scenes in the second half are boring.

Technical Department:

Although the songs in this movie are not very impressive, the BGM is good. Cinematography by Andrew Babu is good. The editing work is fine. Build values are good. Director Shankar K. Marthand should have focused on some serious scenes instead of relying entirely on comedy. But it is commendable that the film is not long.

Verdict:

Overall, a good ghost movie has an interesting idea, but the way it is narrated is not good. Although some scenes in the first half were impressive, the routine scenes in the second half were annoying. Couldn’t handle the flashback episode properly. Emotion is also missing. Even though Vennela Kishore, Shakalaka Shankar, Nandita Shweta and Navami are entertainers, the film lacks an impressive element.
