The anticipation for Kalki 2898 AD in the Hindi market has come out to be stronger than expected and is better than RRR and Salaar which has the SS Rajamouli and Prashanth Neel brands.

Kalki 2898 AD boasts a larger scale than Fighter and features high-profile stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani, which enhances its appeal in the Hindi market.

As of June 24th at 6 PM, Kalki 2898 AD (Hindi) has sold over 20,000 tickets in national chains. If it can reach 50,000 tickets by Tuesday night, it has the potential to double this number to 100,000 by the final day of advance bookings on Wednesday. The final day of advance bookings will be crucial in determining its success.

Achieving this milestone would position Kalki 2898 AD for a 20 crore opening day, with the possibility of reaching 25 crores if spot bookings are strong, driven by positive word of mouth.

Should this happen, Prabhas could emerge as a bigger star in the Hindi market than Salman Khan and Aamir Khan.

Kalki 2898 AD is releasing on a non-holiday. Salman’s last non-holiday release, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, opened with around 12 crores, and Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha managed just 11 crores despite releasing on a national holiday like Independence Day. Tiger 3 cannot be considered as it was released on the huge Diwali holiday.

The film is also seeing magnificent advance bookings in the Nizam/Andhra region and strong performance in Karnataka, driven by Prabhas’ star power.

However, due to the film’s mammoth budget, its success largely hinges on its performance in the Hindi market.

Unlike earlier South Indian films that found unexpected success in Hindi, Kalki 2898 AD is targeting the Hindi market directly, which brings its own set of challenges given the market’s unpredictability across various states.
