Hyderabad: Agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao rebutted claims made by BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, who referred to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy as a ‘cutting master’. Nageswara Rao said that the government remains committed to providing benefits to deserving and genuinely poor individuals.
The government is slated to conduct a video conference with farmers at one rythu vedika in each rural Assembly constituency on June 25. The primary aim of this initiative is to gather farmers’ opinions on the forthcoming rythu bharosa programme, scheduled to start from the upcoming crop season. The agriculture department officials have been directed to make necessary arrangements to facilitate this interaction.
Nageswara Rao highlighted that corrective measures are being undertaken to rectify past discrepancies. He also announced the formation of a Cabinet sub-committee aimed at enhancing the security and welfare of farmers.
“The Cabinet sub-committee on Rythu Bharosa has been established to identify genuine farmers in need and to support their advancement. The implementation of welfare schemes and the state’s development are the fundamental principles of the Congress government. The committee’s formation is not intended to delay the rythu bharosa initiative,” the minister asserted.
Responding to allegations by BRS leaders regarding the state Cabinet’s farm loan waiver announcement, minister Nageswara Rao asserted that these interpretations were unfounded and aimed at misleading the public. The upcoming video conferences are expected to provide valuable insights from farmers across rural constituencies, shaping the implementation strategy for the Rythu Bharosa programme.
