Samsung’s next budget phone, Galaxy A06, shows up online

More evidence confirming the existence of the Galaxy A06 somewhere in Samsung’s development labs emerged online. The unreleased low-cost phone was recently spotted running the Geekbench 4 benchmark, and yesterday, the phone popped up in the Wi-Fi Alliance database.

In both instances, the Galaxy A06 rocks model number SM-A065Fwhich suggests that the A06 doesn’t have 5G connectivity and tops out at LTE.

The Geekbench performance benchmark entry confirms a few characteristics, including the presence of Android 14, 4GB of RAM — although other memory configurations may exist — and an MT6769V/CZ, which should correspond with the MediaTek Helio G85.

As for the Wi-Fi Alliance, the entry confirms that the Galaxy A06 has dual-SIM capabilities and Wi-Fi ac/n/a/b/g connectivity. Likewise, the regulatory agency lists only one Galaxy A06 variant, i.e., the LTE one.

No more signs of the Galaxy A16 yet

As SamMobile reported earlier this month, the Galaxy A06 won’t be alone. Samsung is also developing the Galaxy A16, but so far, we haven’t found any evidence of it at Geekbench or the Wi-Fi Alliance.

The Galaxy A06 will be a sequel to the A05. The latter was released in October 2023, which means that the Galaxy A06 could go on sale before the end of this year.

The ongoing Galaxy A05 is equipped with a 6.7-inch PLS LCD panel with a 720p resolution, the same MediaTek Helio G85 as the A06, and a 50MP primary camera. The upcoming Galaxy A06 might not change too much but should at least ship with newer firmware.
