Shoaib Bashir. Off-spinner of the English team. He became the youngest foreign bowler to take five wickets in the fourth match of the Test series against India. He also troubled the Indian team a lot in the series. But Bashir’s situation in the County Championship is different. Playing for Wastshaw, Bashir conceded 38 runs in an over (Shoaib Bashir concedes 38 runs in an over). He has equaled the record of conceding the most runs in an over in the County Championship.
Dan Lawrence beats
Surrey batsman Dan Lawrence hit Shoaib Bashir for five consecutive sixes in an over. Lawrence hit a six on the first ball of Bashir who came to bowl the 128th over of the innings. Lawrence had already completed his century. He hit three more sixes on the next three balls. The fifth six was hit by slog sweep. Bashir bowled one ball of the over wide, which also resulted in a down the leg four. One ball was also a no ball, the penalty for which is two runs in the County Championship. Bashir conceded 38 runs in this over.
Bashir has equaled the record of conceding the most runs in an over in the County Championship. Earlier in 1998, Andrew Flintoff had hit 38 runs in an over to Alex Tudor. Talking about the match, Wastshaw won the toss and decided to bowl first. While batting, Surrey’s team scored 490 runs. Dan Lawrence played the highest innings of 175 runs. Apart from this, Jamie Smith scored 86, Dom Sibley scored 76 and Ben Fox scored 52 runs. Tom Taylor took three wickets for Wastshaw. Apart from this, Ben Ellison, Adam Finch and Shoaib Bashir took two wickets each.
In their first innings, Wastshaw scored 59 runs after losing one wicket in 19 overs. Jake Libby is present at the crease after scoring 24 runs and Kashif Ali is present at the crease after scoring 17 runs.
