Vijayawada: Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Minister, Kondapalli Srinivas, has said the state government would provide full support by way of permissions and basic amenities to young entrepreneurs starting MSME manufacturing units in AP.
The minister was speaking at a state-level event organised by the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Small Industries Association (FAPSIA) and APMSME Development Corporation to mark the MSME Day on Thursday.
He handed over permission documents to 38 entrepreneurs who would start manufacturing units with a fund of Rs 7.29 crore under PMGEP and MSME schemes. He handed over the loan amount cheques of Rs 9.39 crore to 12 entrepreneurs for opening small-scale industries.
The minister said the state government has been implementing the One District – One Product programme through APIIC to promote local resources. Young entrepreneurs should adapt to the evolving market trends. They should study and understand these trends to manufacture such products.
Appealing to the students to change their thinking to seek government jobs and go abroad for work, Kondapalli Srinivas asked them to instead establish small-scale industries, become self-employed and participate in the nation’s economic development.
He asked the entrepreneurs opening MSME units to make use of the DWCRA groups and employ Self Help Group (SHG) women in their units.
Special chief secretary (industries and Commerce) N. Yuvaraj said Andhra Pradesh stood in 10th place in the establishment of MSMEs in the country. “Information regarding the MSME units is not available easily. The state and central governments have decided to take up a survey to identify the problems faced by the MSME sector.”
The senior official urged FAPSIA to cooperate with the government in surveys to identify the problems in the MSME sector.
