Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD has kicked off strongly at the Hindi box office, with initial trends suggesting a first-day business between Rs 21.00 to 22.00 crore

Starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan, the film aims to become the year’s biggest opener in Hindi, surpassing Fighter featuring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika.
Expectations were high for Kalki to touch the 25-crore mark, but it has fallen short as the night shows haven’t shown a big jump as tomorrow is a working day and the big semi-final match also seems to have taken a toll on the Kalki collections.

In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the film performed well, although fell slightly below expectations outside Hyderabad. Karnataka showed a strong performance. Tamil Nadu and Kerala have done reasonably well.
Globally, Kalki has grossed around 175-180 crore, with a domestic net collection estimated at 90-95 crore. The film has garnered solid business across multiplexes and single screens, with major chains like PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis eyeing an opening day target of Rs 10 crore.

Early reviews and audience reactions are generally positive, although some have raised concerns about the first half. The film’s performance over the next three days will provide insights into its long-term trajectory.
For the Prabhas and Deepika Padukone starrer, the target is to reach Rs 90 crore in Hindi over the extended four-day weekend, with Sunday potentially nearing Rs 30 crore.
Achieving close to a century over the weekend would signal strong word-of-mouth support among viewers, setting a promising path ahead for Kalki 2898 AD.
