Hyderabad: A woman brutally murdered her daughter in-law after she refused to prepare tea in Hasannagar under Attapur police station limits on Thursday. The incident occurred around 10.15 am at the victim’s house near Madina Masjid, Hasannagar.
The accused Farzana Begum, 53, abused her daughter-in-law Ajmeera Begum, 28, to prepare tea for her to which Ajmeera refused.
Later, Farzana ordered Ajmeera to prepare tea for the second time to which Ajmeera Begum argued and abused Farzana stating that she is not her servant to take her command, police said.
However, when Ajmeera was beaten up by Farzana she agreed and went into the kitchen to prepare tea. Farzana followed Ajmeera around the house abusing her and once inside the kitchen Farzana pushed Ajmeera to the ground and strangled her to death with a chunni, police said.
Ajmeera was a native of Mominpet, Vikarabad district. She was married to Mohameed Abbas, an autorickshaw driver in 2015 and is blessed with a six-year-old daughter and and eight-year-old son.
Abbas and Farzana’s husband Mohammed Noor informed police they were in other room when the incident occurred.
Police have taken Farzana into custody and recorded her statement in which she confessed to having murderered her daughter in-law. The victim was harassed by Farzana for a long time, we are investigating whether Farzana was accompanied by her son and husband as they lived in the same house, G. Venkat Ram Reddy, inspector of Attapur police station said. A case of murder under 302 of the IPC was registered against Farzana.
