2 Upcoming Hyundai SUVs In Coming Months

Hyundai Motor India is gearing up to launch the updated Alcazar three-row SUV and the Creta EV in coming months. While the new 2024 Hyundai Alcazar facelift will hit showrooms during Diwali season (possibly in September or October), the Hyundai Creta EV is slated to arrive in January 2025. Let’s take a close look at key details of the upcoming Hyundai SUVs.

Upcoming Hyundai SUVs

Hyundai Alcazar Facelift

The updated Alcazar will receive minimal design changes including a slightly larger front grille with horizontal slats, DRLs with new ‘H’ element connected via a light bar and newly designed alloy wheels. Its dashboard layout will be similar to the Creta facelift along with the dual 10.25-inch infotainment screens (for performing instrument and infotainment functionalities) and ADAS tech. No changes will be made to its engine setup. The new 2024 Hyundai Alcazar facelift will continue to use the 1.5L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel, delivering 160bhp with 253Nm and 116bhp with 250Nm, respectively.

The Hyundai Creta EV will be the first mass-market electric offering from the South Korean automaker in India. The model will enter into production in late 2024, followed by its market launch in early January 2025. It will be positioned against the upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVX. Reports suggest that the Creta EV will borrow its powertrain from the new-gen Koan EV that’s sold in global markets. The entry-level variant of the Kona EV has a 45kWh battery pack and a front mounted electric motor, making power worth 138bhp and 255Nm of torque. Compared to the upcoming Maruti eVX that’s reported to come with the battery pack ranging between 48kWh – 60kWh, the Creta EV will have smaller capacity battery. The electric SUV will feature a front mounted charging port similar to the Kona EV.
