Rise Of Hate Speech In India: US Secretary Antony Blinken

US Secretary Antony Blinken

US Secretary Antony Blinken recently talked about a report on religious freedom all over the world. Not just that, Blinken showed significant concern for the rise of “anti-conversion laws” and the acts of hatred towards minorities in India. What else can one expect from a country that clearly has no idea about the intricacies of caste and religion in an entirely different part of the world?

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs, too, took it upon itself and debunked the report. The ministry of external affairs claimed that the report was biased from the beginning. The sources gave them only a glimpse of the actual picture. In the Indian subcontinent, where the forced conversion of a person can cause the disruption of their entire identity, regulations must be made to keep such notorious elements in check. America knows nothing about how the social fabric of India functions and yet has to make such reports to rally up the voters. The false sympathy is not new for American governments.

This is not the first time the US has tried to be the sentinel of liberty. The star sprangeld banner from the “Land of Freedom” should take a look at its own state, where hate crimes against Indians and brown ethnicity are a day-to-day occurrence.
