Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 motorcycle is set to make global debut on 17th July 2024. The price announcement will also be made at the unveiling event, which is scheduled to take place in Barcelona, Spain. The information comes from Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director and Govindarajan Balakrishnan, Royal Enfield’s CEO. The RE Guerrilla 450 has been on test for a long time, and we have seen the model with and without camouflage multiple times.
Previous spy images reveal that the new Guerrilla 450 features a round LED headlight, a massive fuel tank (similar to the Himalayan 450) and a one-piece seat. The bike comes with the alloy wheels shod with tubeless tyres. Its tail section with a split grab handle appears similar to the RE Himalayan 450. There is a single-pod instrument console. Looking at the spy images, we expect it to offer a more upright riding position with wide handlebars.
Unlike the RE Himalayan 450 that features USD fork suspension, the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 will come with a gaitered telescopic fork. Its braking system will consist of the front and rear disc brakes. Powering the new RE bike with the brand’s Sherpa 452cc, single-cylinder, 4-valve, DOHC liquid-cooled engine. Royal Enfield’s new Sherpa 450 engine has a hydro-mechanical cam chain tensioner that ensures smoother operation with less engine clatter. It has been designed with aluminum barrel, reducing piston clearance. Compared to Himalayan’s LS 410 engine, the Sherpa 450 offers better thermal efficiency and higher compression ratio. Transmission duties will be carried out by a 6-speed gearbox.
The new Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is likely to be positioned against the Triumph Speed 400. While its official price announcement is just a few weeks away, we expect it to cost around Rs 2.40 lakh – Rs 2.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
