Andhra Pensioners get a surprise visit from CM Naidu

Vijayawada: In a first of its kind, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu delivered the social security pension at the doorstep of the beneficiaries in person at 6.00 am in an ST Colony at Penumaka village of Tadepalli mandal in Guntur district on Monday.

The CM arrived at the houses of the beneficiaries and delivered the pension amount into their hands after the village/ward secretariat staff collected their biometrics.

The beneficiaries are identified as Islavathi Sai, Banavath Pamulunayak, and Banavath Sita. They were daily wage workers.

Later, he addressed the beneficiaries.

The state government intended to disburse social security pensions to a majority of people on the first day of the month by delivering the pension at their doorstep. Accordingly, 65.18 lakh beneficiaries are to be given Rs 4,408 crore in the state.

The CM has given a call to the ministers and the public representatives to take part in the pension distribution program. CM Chandrababu Naidu has recently enhanced the pension amounts of various categories, and with the enhanced pension of Rs 1,000 to the existing Rs 3,000, each beneficiary will be given Rs 4,000 in addition to arrears of Rs 1,000 for each month of April, May, and June as promised at the time of elections. With this, each beneficiary is to get a total pension amount of Rs 7,000.
