The collections of Prabhas’ latest film, Kalki 2898 AD, are very impressive in the Hindi belts, Kerala, and the US. The collections are strong in Telangana but below par in Andhra Pradesh.

After a good start on day one, the collections dipped significantly on the second day. However, they stabilized on the third day, and the fourth day looks to be better than the third in the Telugu states.

In places like Rajahmundry, Vizag, Kurnool, and Nizamabad, along with other B and C centers, the film is struggling to draw big crowds. Some in the trade believe that fans expected Prabhas to take a more central, heroic role, which didn’t fully materialize, affecting the film’s performance in certain Telugu regions.

The response from mass centers isn’t as expected, and the difference is visible across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Record-breaking advances didn’t turn into records as the B and C centers remained below par due to the futuristic genre. The audience is finding it tough to follow, especially the boring and dragged first half.

Kalki 2898 AD managed to collect around 18 crores on the third day in the Telugu states, despite disruptions caused by the cricket final match affecting night show attendance.

The fourth day (Sunday) collections might also be in the range of 19-20 crores share in the Telugu states, showing not much growth.

The four-day share is around 95-100 crores. For Kalki 2898 AD to be declared a clean hit in the Telugu states, it needs to collect around 170 crores share.

The next few days are crucial and hopefully, there are no big drops. The break-even targets in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are high. In Telangana, the film might still reach the target if it continues to perform well.

However, in Andhra Pradesh, the situation is challenging as the masses have not fully embraced Prabhas’ futuristic dystopian sci-fi mythological film.
