Nissan India currently has a single model in its product portfolio—the Magnite subcompact SUV. This will soon expand with the launch of the X-Trail, a three-row premium SUV that will be brought via the CBU (Completely Built-Up) route in limited numbers. While its official launch date is yet to be announced, the model is likely to go on sale in July 2024. To create buzz among buyers, the company has released a teaser of the Nissan X-Trail, revealing the V-Motion front grille with the integrated new 2D Nissan badge, LED DRLs, headlamps with a split pattern, and a clamshell bonnet.
Being a premium product, the Nissan X-Trail will come with a host of advanced features such as Nissan Connect telematics, Google-based software with an integrated Google suite of apps, multi-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera, a free-standing 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, ventilated seats, and more.

As far as engines are concerned, the Nissan X-Trail will be offered with a 1.5L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol motor paired with a CVT automatic transmission. The engine delivers a peak power of 204bhp and 305Nm of torque. The SUV will have an AWD drivetrain system. Unlike its global-spec version that comes with Nissan’s e-Power strong hybrid powertrain, the India-spec X-Trail will initially miss out on it.
After the Nissan X-Trail SUV, the company will introduce the updated Magnite by the end of 2024. The model, which has already been spotted testing multiple times, is likely to witness a few changes inside and out. It is expected to come with a slightly updated grille, front bumper, and LED signatures. The headlamp clusters and alloys might also be updated. Inside, there could be new trims, seat upholstery, and a few new features.
Mechanically, the new Nissan Magnite facelift is likely to remain unchanged. Currently, the subcompact SUV is available with a 71bhp, 1.0L, 3-cylinder petrol engine and a 100bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol engine. Transmission choices will also remain intact—a 5-speed MT, a 5-speed AMT, and a CVT.
