Chandrababu Naidu had finalized the candidates for the upcoming MLC by-elections. C Ramachandraiah from TDP and Hari Prasad from Janasena are the candidates.

The two seats fell vacant following the resignation of Shaik Mohammed Iqbal and the disqualification of C Ramachandraiah. They resigned from YSR Congress and joined TDP just before the elections. Both the leaders had the tenure till March 29, 2027.
That means C Ramachandraiah got his own seat and we do not know if there is some alternate arrangement for Iqbal.

Meanwhile, there are discussions on how it is valid to omit Pithapuram TDP in charge SVSN Varma.
Varma sacrificed his seat for Pawan Kalyan and worked hard for the latter’s victory. Pawan Kalyan also acknowledged it multiple times.

Back then, Varma was promised an MLC and a cabinet berth.
But Varma did not get the MLC and instead, Janasena’s candidate got ahead of him.
TDP cadre are also upset about giving Ramachandraiah a chance ahead of Varma. They can not forget how Ramachandraiah used to abuse Chandrababu while in Congress and YSR Congress.
Also, both Ramachandraiah and Hari Prasad are from the Kapu community. So they feel one candidate should have been from a different community.
Kshatriyas did not get representation in the cabinet as well. So, cadre opines Varma should have got his chance.
People are saying how Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan could forget Varma’s sacrifice.
Sources say that Varma was offered the MLC but he refused.
The tenure of these MLC seats is only until 2027. That means less than three years. He is looking for a full-term. So, he is ready to wait for it.
Varma was present on the dais of the Pension distribution program in Pithapuram along with Pawan Kalyan. The Deputy CM also mentioned Varma in his speech and also asked the public to reach out to the latter in his absence.
However, his next chance would come only by March 2025. There are four TDP members retiring then. Varma is likely to get one.
Also, there is one vacant spot in Chandrababu’s candidate. He is likely to be picked for it.
