The Mahindra Scorpio N, which has been on sale for over two years, is one of the top-selling SUVs from the indigenous automaker. The Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic recorded cumulative sales of 1,41,462 units in the financial year 2024, accounting for 84 percent YoY growth and 31 percent of Mahindra’s best-ever fiscal sales of 4,59,877 units. The Scorpio SUV (including both Classic and N) became the sixth top-selling SUV in India in FY2024. Mahindra has confirmed that over 28,500 units of the Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic SUVs were sold in the first two months of the ongoing financial year.

Earlier this year, Mahindra & Mahindra trademarked the Scorpio X name that’s likely to be used for the Scorpio N-based lifestyle pickup. The model was first showcased as the Mahindra Global Pik Up concept, and its production version is slated to first launch in markets like Australia, Africa, and the Middle East. The Mahindra Scorpio X pickup is expected to stay true to its concept. It will feature a newly-designed black grille, new headlamps with LED DRLs, a pronounced bumper, and a metallic bash plate at the front.

Compared to the Scorpio N, the Mahindra Scorpio X pickup will have a longer wheelbase and higher ground clearance. Under the hood, it will employ the Green II all-aluminum mHawk diesel engine with 6-speed manual and automatic gearboxes. The pickup will be offered with a 4WD setup and shift-on-the-fly functionality. There will be four driving modes – Normal, Grass-Gravel-Snow, Sand, and Mud-Rut.
