Bajaj Auto is all set to reveal the prices of its first CNG bike tomorrow (i.e., 5th July 2024). While the two-wheeler maker hasn’t yet announced the product’s name and details, it’s likely to be called the ‘Bajaj Freedom 125’ CNG. The information comes directly from Bajaj’s official website listing the bike’s name. Interestingly, it will also be India’s first-ever CNG bike, which will surely be high on fuel efficiency. It’s expected to offer a mileage of up to 100km/kg.
As its name suggests, the upcoming Bajaj CNG bike will feature a 125cc petrol engine paired with a factory-fitted CNG kit. The latest teasers show some of its key features, such as a round LED headlight, a bench-style seat, and a switch to toggle between petrol and CNG fuel placed on the left-hand switch panel with indicator arrows below it.
Previous spy images confirm that the Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG will come with twin five-spoke alloy wheels and 17-inch alloys. The bike will have a braced handlebar, mid-set footpegs with a single-piece seat, a grab rail, a number plate holder, and a slim tail section with indicators. There will be a fully digital instrument cluster. The Freedom 125 CNG will be equipped with a telescopic fork and a monoshock suspension unit, while the braking duties will be performed by front and rear drum brakes.
Once launched, the Bajaj CNG bike won’t have any direct competitors in the market. In terms of pricing, however, it will compete with the Hero Splendor Plus, Honda Shine 100, and TVS Radeon. Bajaj is likely to price its first CNG motorcycle quite aggressively. We expect it to cost from Rs 80,000 onwards. Bajaj Auto has already revealed its plan to launch a few more CNG bikes featuring new technologies. The second CNG offering from the Pune-based two-wheeler maker will be more premium than the Freedom 125 CNG.
