Maruti Suzuki has dispatched over 2 million vehicles through Indian Railways, becoming the first Indian automaker to reach this milestone. Maruti Suzuki’s vehicle dispatches through railways went up from 65,700 units in FY2014-15 to 4,47,750 units in FY2023-24. The share of vehicle dispatches through railways scaled up from 5% in FY2014-15 to 21.5% in FY2023-24. Railways offer a congestion-free, safer, and energy-efficient alternative to road transportation of vehicles. According to the company, railways helped offset cumulative CO2 emissions of approximately 10,000 metric tonnes and resulted in fuel savings of 270 million litres in the last 10 years. Today, Maruti dispatches vehicles to 20 destinations, serving over 450 cities using Indian railways.
