Mercedes-Benz EQA has been launched in India at Rs 66 lakh (ex-showroom), making it the most affordable electric offering from the German automaker. It is being offered in a single, fully-loaded variant – EQA 250+ – that will compete against the Kia EV6, BMW iX1, Volvo XC40 Recharge, and Hyundai Ioniq 5. The electric SUV comes with a 70.5kWh battery pack and an electric motor, delivering a combined power of 188bhp and 385Nm of torque.
The carmaker claims that the EQA offers a range of 560km on a single charge. The SUV comes with a regular 11kW AC charger that can charge its battery from 0 to 100 percent in 7 hours and 15 minutes. Its battery can also be charged via a 100kW DC fast charger from 10 to 80 percent in 35 minutes. The Mercedes EQA can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds and offers a top speed of 160 km/h. There are four drive modes – Comfort, Eco, Sport, and Individual – for adjusting steering and pedal response and ESP sensitivity. The EV also has three regenerative braking levels – Normal, Strong, and Maximum.
Buyers have seven color options to choose from – Mountain Grey Magno, Mountain Grey, Polar White, Hi-tech Silver, Patagonia Red, Cosmos Black, and Spectral Blue. The Mercedes-Benz EQA shares several design elements with the EQB and GLA. Upfront, the electric SUV features a blanked-off piano black grille and headlamps connected via an LED light bar. Some of its other design highlights include 19-inch aero wheels, squared wheel arches, a coupe-like sloping roofline, a new rear bumper with chrome treatment, and connected taillamps.
The entry-level EV offering from Mercedes-Benz comes with a host of advanced features such as a dual 10.25-inch screen setup, Burmester sound system, HUD, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, in-built navigation with Augmented Reality, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, electric front seats with memory, wireless charging, autonomous emergency braking, an electric tailgate, and more.
