New Kia Sonet HTX Turbo Petrol Launched at Rs 9.60 Lakh

The Kia Sonet subcompact SUV model lineup has been further expanded with the addition of three new variants – GTX 1.0L 7DCT, GTX 1.5L Diesel AT and HTK turbo petrol. The GTX 1.0L petrol and 1.5L diesel are priced at Rs 13.70 lakh and Rs 14.55 lakh, respectively. The new Sonet HTK turbo petrol comes with a price tag of Rs 9.60 lakh (ex-showroom). Kia India has also introduce the new Seltos GTX 1.5 petrol 7DCT and 1.5L diesel 6AT variants at Rs 18.99 lakh .

The new Sonet HTX variant comes with a 1.0L turbo petrol engine that’s good enough for 118bhp and 172Nm of torque. It features a 6-speed iMT gearbox along with a front-wheel-drive system. When it comes to features, the new Sonet HTK variant offers a wireless phone charger, rear wiper and washer, and R16 diamond-cut alloy wheels. Besides launching the new variant, the carmaker has introduced the HTK+ and HTK (O) trims with rear wash and wiper, along with offering Isofix mounts as standard across the HTE, THE (O), and HTK trims. The HTK+ has also received LED headlamp clusters.

Currently, the Sonet model lineup is available within the price range of Rs 7.99 lakh – Rs 15.75 lakh. Its petrol variants are priced from Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 14.75 lakh, while the diesel variants cost between Rs 9.80 lakh and Rs 15.75 lakh. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom. Buyers also have 1.2L petrol (82bhp/115Nm) and 1.5L diesel (114bhp/250Nm) engine options, along with the 1.0L turbo petrol (118bhp/172Nm). The model lineup is spread across ten trims – HTE, THE (O), HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX, HTX+, GTX, GTX+, and X-Line.

In June 2024, Kia India recorded a sales growth of 9.8 percent compared to the same month the previous year. In the first half of this year, the South Korean automaker registered total sales of 1,26,137 units, accounting for a YoY growth of 6 percent. Interestingly, the Kia Sonet emerged as the top sales contributor, accounting for 43 percent of the total sales. The subcompact SUV recorded its highest-ever sales of 7,433 units in May 2024.
