YS Sharmila stakes claim for YSR’s legacy

After waging an unflinching poll battle against his own brother and YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in the run-up to the recent assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, PCC chief YS Sharmila now wants to prove herself as a true successor of her father and former Congress stalwart YS Rajasekhar Reddy who served as CM of the state from 2004 to 2009.

Ever since entering into the Andhra Pradesh political scene, Sharmila has been projecting herself as the really successor of YSR’s legacy. She has now got an opportunity to put her assertion into action by making this year’s birth anniversary of Rajasekhar Reddy a huge success with her planning and execution.

As per reports, Sharmila is pulling all stops to organise a mega event at CK Convention Hall in Mangalagiri on July 8th on the eve of YSR’s birth anniversary. She is planning to invite who’s who of Congress high command and draw the attention of YSR supporters.

She will invite dignitaries like Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi for this event. Also, other Congress bigwigs like Mallikarjun Karge, Siddaramaiah, Revanth Reddy, Digvijay Singh, Jairam Ramesh, Veerappa Moily and Sushil Kumar Sinde are likely to get an invitation from Sharmila.

TDP president and AP CM Chandra Babu Naidu and Janasena supremo and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan are also expected to receive personal invitations from Sharmila for this occasion.

Reportedly, Sharmila is very determined to stake claim for YSR’s legacy and thwart Jagan’s political ambitious in the state. So, she wants to organise the birth anniversary of her father in a flamboyant manner and make the entire nation notice it.

Meanwhile, former CM Jagan Mohan Reddy is likely to confine himself to Idupulapaya estate where he will offer floral tributes to his father’s monument. It is quite surprising that both Jagan and Sharmila are taking contrasting routes to celebrate the birth anniversary of their father Rajasekhar Reddy.
