The BYD Atto 3 electric SUV is set to receive a new entry-level variant in India tomorrow (10th July 2024). This new variant will be offered with a smaller 50kWh battery pack. However, its specifications are still under wraps. The Atto 3 is currently available with a single 60kWh battery pack and an electric motor, delivering a combined power output of 204PS and 310Nm of torque.
The current EV offers a claimed range of 510km on a full charge. The range of the new entry-level variant will surely be lesser than the existing model. Similar to the existing model, the new variant will be offered with a 7kW home charger and a 3kW portable charging box.
Being an entry-level variant, the model will miss out on select features, including the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite. The existing version of the electric SUV is packed with several advanced features such as a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 6-way powered driver seat, a 5-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charger, panoramic sunroof, automatic AC, synthetic leather upholstery, ambient lighting, an 8-speaker sound system, powered tailgate, and keyless entry.
The EV SUV’s safety kit includes seven airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, Isofix child seat anchorages, an electronic stability program, a 360-degree camera, traction control, ABS, ESC, and hill descent control. Buyers have four exterior colors to choose from – Ski White, Boulder Grey, Surf Blue, and Parkour Red.
At present, the WORLD Atto 3 model lineup comes in two variants – Base and Special Edition – priced at Rs 33.99 lakh and Rs 34.49 lakh, respectively. The new entry-level variant is estimated to cost around Rs 26 lakh to Rs 28 lakh. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom. Select BYD dealers have already started accepting bookings for the upcoming affordable variant.
