Bharateeyudu 2, the Telugu dubbed version of Indian 2, is gearing up for its worldwide release this Friday. The film stars Kamal Haasan, who reprises his role as Senapathy.
According to trade reports, Bharateeyudu 2’s pre-release business is estimated to be about one-third of Shankar’s last outing, 2.0, whose break-even was at 75 crores. The break-even target for Indian 2 in the Telugu states is around 25 crores.

Shankar has a significant market in Telugu, with some of his films performing better in Telugu than in their original versions in Tamil Nadu. Therefore, the relatively low pre-release business comes as a surprise.
However, given the current market conditions, the 25 crores target is reasonable. Considering Shankar’s brand value, the sequel factor, and Kamal Haasan’s presence, if the film delivers, achieving this target might not be very difficult.

Shankar’s next film is the long-awaited Game Changer with Ram Charan, so the Telugu audience might flock to the theaters to check out what’s the current form of Shankar as a director to get an idea about how Game Changer has shaped up.
The buzz has started picking up slowly and the way things are going, Indian 2 should have a decent first day in Telugu markets in terms of box office revenue.
