Skoda Auto India has lined up two new SUVs for 2025 – the all-new subcompact SUV and the second-generation Kodiaq. While the former will go on sale by February, the latter will arrive by June 2025. The upcoming Skoda compact SUV will underpin the MQB-A0-IN platform, which is also used in the Slavia and Kushaq. However, the model will have a shorter wheelbase than its siblings.
Previous spy images reveal that the compact SUV won’t have front and rear overhangs. The model is likely to carry Skoda’s familiar design language with a slatted grille, headlamps with a split setup, and a kinked glasshouse. Most of its features are expected to be borrowed from the Kushaq and Slavia. The major highlights will be the ADAS suite and 360-degree camera.
The carmaker has already confirmed that the new Skoda compact SUV will come with a 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine making 115bhp and 178Nm. Transmission choices could be a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
The subcompact SUV will be positioned against multiple cars including Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, and Tata Nexon. The carmaker expects to sell nearly 60,000 – 90,000 units annually.
The all-new Skoda Kodiaqwhich was first showcased in October last year, will be imported to India via the CKD route and then assembled locally. The SUV will grow in terms of dimensions and cost more than its current generation. However, no changes will be made to its engine setup. The 2025 Skoda Kodiaq will use the same 190bhp, 2.0L turbo petrol motor with a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox and AWD setup.
