Based on Renault-Nissan’s CMF-C platform, the Nissan X-Trail 7-seater SUV will be an answer to the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, and MG Gloster. It will be a premium product that’s slated to go on sale by the end of July or early August 2024. The SUV is reported to come with a single 1.5L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine and a CVT automatic gearbox. The gasoline unit will deliver 204bhp and 305Nm of torque.

Tata Curvv

Tata Curvv Diesel

The Tata Curvv coupe SUV launch has been confirmed for 7th August 2024. The model will initially be introduced with an electric powertrain, which will be followed by its ICE version. The Curvv EV is expected to offer a range of around 450km – 500km. Similar to the Punch EV, the coupe SUV will underpin Tata’s Acti.ev platform and retain most of its design elements from the concept. Compared to the Nexon, the Curvv will be 313mm longer and have a 62mm longer wheelbase.

Mahindra Thar 5-Door

Mahindra Thar 5-door SUV

The Mahindra Thar 5-door SUV will have its world premiere on 15th August 2024. Its prices are likely to be announced just after its official unveiling or in the following weeks. Its final version is reported to be named Mahindra Thar Armada. The 5-door SUV will come with three engines – 1.5L diesel (with 4X2 configuration only), 2.2L diesel (with both 4X2 and 4X4 setups), and 2.0L petrol (with 4X4 capabilities). Compared to its 3-door version, it will look slightly different and have more features on board.

Hyundai Alcazar Facelift

New Alcazar

The 2024 Hyundai Alcazar facelift will go on sale in September. The three-row SUV will come with slightly improved styling and a few new features. Inside, there could be a newly-designed dashboard with two connected digital displays along with features such as a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and ADAS tech. The new Alcazar will use the same 160bhp, 1.5L turbo petrol and 115bhp, 1.5L diesel engines.

Citroen Basalt

Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe

The Citroen Basalt will be a direct rival to the upcoming Tata Curvv. Its official launch date is yet to be announced, though the coupe SUV is expected to hit showrooms in August or September 2024. The model will share its platform and features with the C3 Aircross and has a coupe-like roofline. The engine setup of the Citroen Basalt will include a 1.2L turbo petrol engine borrowed from the C3 Aircross. The motor pushes out a peak power of 110bhp and 205Nm of torque. Transmissions on offer will be a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

New-Gen Maruti Dzire

2024 New Maruti Dzire

The new-gen Maruti Suzuki Dzire is surely one of the most anticipated car launches of this year. The compact sedan is likely to arrive in September or October 2024 (i.e., around the 2024 festive season). The all-new Dzire will share its platform, design elements, features, and powertrain with the next-gen Swift hatchback. Reports suggest that it might be offered with a single-pane sunroof and a 360-degree camera along with a new 9-inch infotainment system and a few more features. Powering the new Dzire will be a 1.2L, 3-cylinder Z-Series petrol engine, with both manual and AMT gearboxes.
