Tata Curvv Official Debut On 19th July

The Tata Curvv will finally make its official debut in its production-ready avatar on 19th July 2024. Its prices, however, will be announced on 7th August. The Curvv is essentially a coupe SUV targeting the mass market, but it will also compete with mid-size SUVs including Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Honda Elevate. Tata has already confirmed that the coupe SUV will be offered with both ICE (internal combustion engine) and electric powertrain options.

The SUV’s electric iteration will take on the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti eVXwhile the ICE-powered version will face challenges from the existing mid-size SUVs. While the former is estimated to be priced from Rs 20 lakh onwards, the latter is likely to cost nearly Rs 10 lakh for the base variant.

Talking about powertrains, the Tata Curvv SUV will feature the brand’s all-new 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine making 125 bhp. The diesel version will use the Nexon’s 1.5L, 4-cylinder motor that’s good enough for 113 bhp. Both manual and DCT automatic gearboxes will be on offer. Battery details and performance figures of the Curvv EV are still under wraps, though the electric SUV is expected to offer a range of up to 500 km on a single charge. It will be the second Tata to feature the Gen 2 Acti.ev architecture.

The interior of the upcoming Curvv SUV is still a mystery. However, a few unclear spy images hinted that the model will have a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, along with features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a JBL surround sound system, ventilated seats, ambient lighting, 6 airbags, and a 360-degree camera with a blind spot monitoring system. The SUV’s higher trims will be exclusively offered with Level 2 ADAS tech and a panoramic sunroof.
