Top Democrats are discussing how much pressure President Joe Biden is facing to quit the race for president, possibly even deciding to do so this weekend.
Despite publicly insisting he’ll continue, privately he’s under a lot of stress due to bad poll numbers and criticism that he’s too old or not sharp enough to win.

His own party leaders, friends, and donors are telling him they don’t think he can win the election, change people’s opinions about his age and abilities, or help Democrats win seats in Congress.
They worry that if he stays in the race, former President Trump could easily win, undoing everything Biden has done and hurting Democrats in the upcoming elections.

The pressure on Biden to step down has become very intense lately. Democrats are worried that if they don’t change something soon, their chances of winning in November could be in serious trouble.
Leaders like Senator Chuck Schumer have reportedly told Biden it might be best for him to quit, fearing that if he stays, Democrats could lose seats they could otherwise win.

Even though Biden has enough support from delegates to stay in the race, people close to him believe he might decide to stop running soon.
