According to the makers of Kalki 2898 AD, the film grossed around Rs 1000 crore at the box office, marking Prabhas’ first genuine success since Baahubali.
While Saaho, Radhe Shyam, and Adipurush flopped, Salaar made 600 crores worldwide. But its high budget meant it didn’t make any money for its producers.

Kalki 2898 AD was a hit in Telangana, average in Andhra Pradesh, successful in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, and a superhit in the Hindi belts and the US, making it a hit overall.
Prabhas’ next film, Raja Saab, is directed by Maruthi, who isn’t typically known for handling heroes of Prabhas’ stature. This time, Maruthi is creating a fun, light-hearted entertainer with colorful songs and action, which was intended as a relief for Prabhas amidst his big-budget serious films.

However, following Kalki’s success, the pressure is now on Maruthi. Prabhas has regained his box office appeal after Kalki and can’t afford another unsuccessful film. Raja Saab needs to be a big hit to maintain Prabhas’ winning streak.
Maruthi has to come up with his best work and make a supremely entertaining film that would cater to all sets of audiences. The Bollywood audience is also keenly watching Prabhas. They are waiting to see him go wrong. If Maruthi messes up this time, they are ready to troll Prabhas brutally.
