The fourth-generation Nissan X-Trail three-row SUV has been revealed ahead of its India launch. The carmaker hasn’t yet announced the launch date, though the model is expected to go on sale in the coming days. Here, the SUV will be imported as a CBU (Completely Built-Up Unit) and will compete with the MG Gloster, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, and Toyota Fortuner. The X-Trail 7-seater SUV is reported to be offered with a single 1.5L, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine featuring 12V mild hybrid technology. The setup, with a shift-by-wire CVT automatic gearbox, delivers a claimed power of 163bhp and 300Nm of torque. Buyers will have three exterior paint schemes to choose from, including Pearl White, Champagne Silver, and Diamond Black. The overall length, width, and height stand at 4680mm, 1840mm, and 1725mm, respectively. The SUV has a wheelbase of 2705mm, 210mm of ground clearance, and a 5.5m turning radius.

In terms of features, the India-spec Nissan X-Trail will offer a 360-degree camera, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the latest wireless smartphone connectivity, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, keyless entry and push-button start, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, an electronic parking brake with auto hold function, and paddle shifters. For safety, there will be seven airbags, a limited-slip differential, traction control, ABS with EBD, hill start assist, auto wipers, and front parking sensors.

Upfront, the X-Trail features the familiar ‘V-Motion’ grille with dark chrome, split-headlamp clusters, and LED DRLs. The upright stance and rounded wheel arches with plastic cladding and diamond-cut alloy wheels add to its SUV-like appearance. It has 255/45 R20 size tyres and wraparound LED taillamps.
