A 5-day long Gauri and Jaya Parvati fast ritual has been organized at Raghuveer temple in Janaki Kund, the place of penance of Paramhans Saint Ranchhoddas Maharaj in Chitrakoot. This event has been a tradition of being organized under the aegis of Raghuveer Mandir Trust for the last 4 decades.

Usha B Jain, President of Sadguru Mahila Samiti, said that this fast is observed every year for 5 days from Ashadh Shukla Triyodashi to Shravan Krishna Dwitiya. In this ritual, unmarried girls worship, pray and adore Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati.
This year a total of 125 girls from the Trust family have participated in this fast. This fast begins with sowing of Jwara on the first day. Every day there is daily ritual worship and other rituals and on the last day there is Mata’s Rad Jagran. In this, the girls give various cultural presentations on religious topics. In the end, the fast is concluded with immersion of Jwara. Guru brothers and sisters and disciple families from all over India also participate in this program and considering the girls observing the fast as Goddess, they worship them by washing their feet and wish for spiritual benefits.
