Lately, there have been numerous cases of Indians drowning in America. Recently, another tragic incident has come to light where a Telugu student drowned.
On Saturday evening, a young man named Akshith Reddy Bhandra, 26 years old, drowned while swimming with friends at Illinois Beach State Park near Zion, Lake Michigan. Akshith and his friends were swimming from the shore to a rock wall when he couldn’t keep up and went under the water.

Emergency responders, including firefighters and police, arrived around 8:10 PM. They searched for Akshith with the help of divers and boats. After about two hours, they found Akshith around 10 PM., about 30 feet from the shore. He was taken to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, but unfortunately, he had already passed away.
The authorities are investigating the incident to understand what happened. Initial findings show that Akshith and his friends were swimming to a rock wall when he couldn’t make it and drowned.

According to his family, Akshith was a kind and friendly person who came to the USA to pursue a master’s degree at Valparaiso University.
He had recently graduated and was working towards building his future. Akshith was also a sportsman, participating in district-level karate competitions.

Akshith’s death has left his family devastated. A fundraising campaign has been started to help cover the costs of sending his remains back to India, hospital bills, and funeral expenses.
