State Bureau, Naiduniya/Raipur. After the order of the Supreme Court, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the city and center wise UG NEET exam results. In Chhattisgarh, the number of students scoring more than 500 marks has increased significantly this time compared to last year. There are 14 students scoring more than 700 marks, which was zero last year. The number of students scoring more than 650 marks has also increased 11 times.

Last year there were 13 students who scored more than 650 marks, which has increased to 144 this time. Similarly, those scoring more than 600 marks have increased from 134 to 533, those scoring more than 550 marks from 538 to 1224 and those scoring more than 500 marks have increased from 1298 to 2077. Getting admission into a government MBBS seat in the state is going to be very difficult this time. Those scoring more than 600 marks cannot be denied a seat in government medical colleges.

Experts say that the marks required to get admission in a government college in NEET is different for every institute and category of candidates every year. The cutoff for NEET UG keeps changing every year. In such a situation, it cannot be said clearly on how many marks in NEET to get admission in a government college.

NEET admission in medical colleges is done on the basis of the All India Rank obtained by the candidates through AIQ or state-wise counseling. Students prefer government colleges because private medical colleges charge high fees for MBBS. Sometimes the cost of pursuing a course from private institutions reaches crores.

This time, NEET exam centers were set up in Ambikapur, Balod, Bhilai-Durg, Bijapur, Bilaspur, Dantewada, Dhamtari, Jagdalpur, Janjgir-Champa, Kanker, Kondagaon, Korba, Mahasamund, Manendragarh, Narayanpur, Raigarh, Raipur, Rajnandgaon and Sukma. This time, about 43 thousand students from the state had applied for UG NEET, out of which about 22 thousand have qualified. The maximum number of 17 exam centers were set up in Raipur, in which 9,114 students participated.
