Kia Carens has been generating volume for the South Korean automaker since its launch in February 2022. Attributes such as practical seating arrangements, numerous features, and aggressive pricing are working in its favor. In June 2024, the Carens achieved a sales milestone of 1.5 lakh units, with 50 percent of buyers opting for the mid-spec and top-end variants. Aiming to further boost its sales performance, Kia India is ready to give the Carens its first major facelift by mid-2025.
Details of the new Kia Carens facelift are scanty at this point in time. However, the model is likely to receive minimal cosmetic updates, including redesigned headlamps with new LED DRLsinspired by the Seltos. The front and rear bumpers could also be revised, along with newly-designed alloy wheels. At the back, the MPV might feature new inverted L-shaped taillamps connected by an LED light bar, as seen in the Seltos.
Inside, the new Carens is likely to feature new upholstery and a revised dashboardalong with upgraded material quality. The MPV’s updated model could be the first vehicle in its category to offer ADAS techwhich will be reserved for the higher trims. Features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car tech, wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats, rear-view camera, keyless go, one-touch electric-assisted tumble function for the second-row seat, tire pressure monitoring system, six airbags, hill start and descent control, electronic stability control, and ABS will be carried forward from the current model.
Under the hood, the new Kia Carens facelift will continue to feature the existing 115bhp, 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, 140bhp, 1.4L turbo petrol, and 115bhp, 1.5L diesel engines. All three powertrains will come with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, while the 6-speed torque converter and 7-speed DCT automatic transmissions will be offered with the turbo-petrol and diesel variants only.
