It’s been nearly three years since Allu Arjun and Sukumar’s Pushpa: The Rise hit theaters, emerging as a massive success post-pandemic.
Allu Arjun’s stylish portrayal of Pushpa and Rashmika’s portrayal of Srivalli captivated audiences across India, with Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s “Oo Antava” item number adding to the film’s nationwide appeal.

Fans have eagerly awaited Allu Arjun’s return with iconic lines like “Jhukega nahi sala” and “Flower nahi fire hai.” However, the sequel’s release has been delayed multiple times, now set for December 6, 2024, after an initial August 15 release plan.
Bollywood has experienced a disappointing year at the box office following a blockbuster 2023 with hits like Pathaan, Jawan, and Animal. With the industry in need of a major hit, the Bollywood trade is expecting that Pushpa 2 will fill that void this year and give a 500-crore film in Hindi alone.

So far, Baahubali 2 is the only film to have grossed 1000 crores from India. If Pushpa 2 reaches 500 crores net in Hindi, reaching the 1000 crore gross mark only from India isn’t out of the question.
It’s a bold, mad, and outrageous prediction, but the Bollywood media is hopeful that the combination of hype, the sequel factor, Allu Arjun’s star power, and positive word of mouth could make it a reality.
