Actress Sushmita Sen, who recently appeared in the third season of the streaming series Aarya, shared on Rhea Chakraborty’s Chapter 2 podcast that she didn’t need to explain sex to her children as part of their sex education.
Sushmita mentioned that her conversation with her daughters about sex was very different and more open compared to the one she had with her own mother.

She explained to Rhea, “I didn’t have to explain the act of sex to my daughters. They’re already PhDs (sic), all of them are.”
This statement sparked outrage on social media. One user commented, “Bollywood pushes sex education onto children through massive marketing, often linked to illegal activities. They even get prestigious awards for their influence.”

Another user criticized, “Sushmita, who changes boyfriends often, teaches her daughters about sex.”
However, these reactions misinterpreted her statement and unfairly attacked her.

Sushmita actually had said, “I didn’t have to explain the act of sex to my daughters. They’re already PhDs (sic), all of them are. My younger daughter is interested in biology, so she knows the technical terms. I prefer to keep discussions generic and focus on the right time and context for sex.”
She added, “I emphasize that sex should be equated with respect and not done out of peer pressure. It’s important that it makes you feel good and is a decision you make for yourself.”
