In a significant move, Andhra Pradesh’s Education Minister Nara Lokesh unveiled the 2024-25 academic calendar for schools on Monday. Notably, the calendar is free from political imagery, as Lokesh emphasized the need to keep education apolitical.
This decision marks a departure from the previous government’s practices where ex-CM YS Jagan’s photos were commonly included.

Lokesh asserted that the new academic calendar reflects a commitment to neutrality and unbiased education. He stated that political interference in educational institutions would not be tolerated, ensuring that all training materials for teachers and students remain neutral.
IT Minister Nara Lokesh took to social media to communicate this change, highlighting the wasteful spending of the previous YSRCP government led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Lokesh accused Jagan’s administration of plunging the state into a financial crisis by spending ₹700 crore on printing the ‘Axe’ CM’s image on various public documents.

In a satirical twist, Lokesh dubbed Jagan as the ‘Axe’ CM, alluding to how Jagan’s policies adversely affected the people of Andhra Pradesh during his tenure.
Lokesh’s announcement reaffirmed the NDA government’s commitment to protecting citizens’ lands and dignity, emphasizing that the new Pattadar passbooks would now carry the Andhra Pradesh emblem, as promised by CM Chandrababu Naidu.
