From November 1, all film-related activities will stop, including starting new productions. This pause will last until August 16 next year.
The council wants to fix issues with how much actors and technicians are paid to avoid financial losses for producers.

Actor Dhanush is facing backlash from the Tamil Film Producers’ Council (TFPC) and theater owners.
They allege that Dhanush has taken advance payments from several producers but failed to fulfill his commitments by not providing the agreed dates for shoots.

This issue has led the council to advise producers to consult them before engaging Dhanush for new projects.
In 2023, Sri Thenandal Films also reported that Dhanush accepted an advance but did not show up for the scheduled shoot, which shocked many fans.
The TFPC has criticized the broader practice where artists and technicians accept advances but move on to new projects without completing their current ones. This practice often results in significant financial losses for producers.
Producers need to finish all current shoots by October 30.
A committee has been set up to help resolve future issues in the industry.
