Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to celebrate 77 years of Indian Independence with the launch of the Roxx lifestyle off-road SUV. It is essentially the 5-door version of the Thar with slightly different styling, more features, and some serious off-road capabilities. Official details and prices of the Mahindra Thar Roxx will be revealed on 15th August 2024. However, we have seen the model via numerous spy images and videos revealing a handful of interesting details. The latest Insta video showcases the entire interior of the SUV with white upholstery and a black finish on the dashboard, steering, center console, and other parts of the cabin.
A major highlight of the Thar Roxx SUV is the bigger touchscreen infotainment system with AC vents placed below it. There is a new steering wheel with mounted controls, ventilated front seats with electric adjustment (as seen in the XUV700), automatic climate control, rear AC vents, a digital instrument cluster, auto-dimming IRVM, a 9-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, roof-mounted rear speakers, split center armrest, adjustable headrests for all passengers, and rear armrest.
An official teaser has already confirmed that the new Mahindra SUV will have a panoramic sunroof. The lower variants could be offered with a single-pane sunroof. For safety provisions, the Mahindra Roxx will offer 6 airbags, ADAS suite, traction control, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program, hill descent assist, and hill hold assist. The Mahindra Thar Roxx SUV model lineup is reported to come in 3 or 4 variants and three engines, borrowed from the 3-door Thar. That means there will be 1.5L diesel, 2.2L diesel, and 2.0L petrol motors with RWD (for the lower variants) and 4WD (for the higher trims) drivetrain options.
Unofficial bookings for the Thar Roxx SUV have already commenced. With the 5-door Force Gurkha and Maruti Suzuki Jimny in its sights, the new Mahindra off-road SUV is expected to cost between Rs 18 lakh – Rs 23 lakh (ex-showroom).
