The talented figure of Malayalam Cinema Bessy has written, directed, and co-produced the survival-drama called The Goat Life or Aadujeevitham. It tells the story of an immigrant labour from Kerala who is forced into slavery as a goatherd in a desert in Saudi Arabia. Along with being a co-producer AR Rahman also composed the score for the film.

The star cast of the film includes Prithviraj Sukumaran, Jimmy Jean-Louis and K. R. Gokul along with Talib Al Balushi, Rik Aby, Amala Paul and Shobha Mohan. The film is an adaptation of a Malayali novel of the same name that is based on a real life story. After making a great buzz on international platforms like Venice Film Festival and at theatres in India, the film released on OTT platform.
It started streaming on Netflix from 19 July. Since then, it has gained a wider reception across all demographics of India. The film is much discussed and reviewed on social media by fans. The significant buzz around the film has resulted in it being amongst the top 10 films on Netflix in July. And not only once but twice! Yes, The Goat Life has made into the list with both Hindi and Telugu language. This goes to show how well it is being received across South and North India alike. Cinema can shorten the distance between land masses by bringing people together in appreciation of great works!
