NEW DELHI: The Indian shooting duo of Maheshwari Chauhan and Anant Jeet Singh Naruka narrowly missed the bronze medal in the skeet mixed team event at the Paris Olympics in Chateauroux on Monday, finishing fourth with a score of 43.
The duo was were just one point behind China’s Yiting Jiang and Jianlin Lyu, who secured the bronze with a score of 44.
During the qualification rounds, Maheshwari and Naruka ended up tied with another team. Both teams scored 146 at the conclusion of the three-round, 150-shot process, necessitating a shoot-off to determine fourth place.
Maheshwari excelled in the qualification, achieving a perfect score of 50/50 in her final two rounds. Naruka complemented his performance with scores of 25, 23, and 24 in the three rounds.
The Indian duo showed commendable skill and teamwork, coming close to a podium finish in a highly competitive field.
