Tata Curvv Petrol/Diesel Launch On 2nd September – Creta Fighter

Tata Motors recently announced the prices of the much-awaited Curvv EV coupe SUV alongside revealing its ICE (internal combustion engine) version. The carmaker has also confirmed that the Curvv with petrol and diesel engines will go on sale on 2nd September 2024. Touted as ‘Hyperion,’ Tata’s new 1.2L, three-cylinder direct injection petrol engine will power the Curvv, claimed to deliver a maximum power of 125bhp and 225Nm of torque. This new motor runs on petrol and an E20 ethanol petrol mix fuel and meets BS6 Phase II emission standards.

The Curvv diesel will derive its power from a 1.5L unit delivering a peak power of 118bhp. A 6-speed manual gearbox will come as standard along with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Tata’s new ATLAS (Adaptive Tech Forward Lifestyle Architecture) platform, which debuted with the Curvv coupe SUV, will also be used for the brand’s future electric and ICE models. This architecture will support vehicles measuring 3.9 meters to 4.6 meters in length and different body styles including hatchbacks, sedans, SUVs, and coupe SUVs.

The Tata Curvv model lineup spreads across six variants – Smart, Pure+, Creative, Creative+ S, Accomplished S, and Accomplished+ A. It’s a feature-packed machine with class-leading equipment such as a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, a fully digital driver’s display, ventilated front seats, a reclining rear seat, Level 2 ADAS, flush door handles, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a powered tailgate with gesture control.

Prices of the Curvv EV range from Rs 17.49 lakh to Rs 21.99 lakh (all ex-showroom). Its ICE version will be priced slightly lower than its electric iteration. We expect it to come at a starting price of around Rs 10.50 lakh, making it a direct rival of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, and other midsize SUVs.
