The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Thursday that Praveen Jayawickramaa 25-year-old spinner from Sri Lankahas been charged with three violations of the anti-corruption code. The charges stem from Jayawickrama’s failure to report an approach to fix matches and his obstruction of an ongoing investigation.
According to the ICC, Jayawickrama was approached to fix international matches during the 2021 season of the Lanka Premier League.Additionally, he was asked to approach another player to engage in match-fixing activities during the same tournament.
