This Independence Day, we are going to witness a major product launch from Mahindra & Mahindra – the Thar Roxx. The off-road SUV, which is essentially the 5-door/stretched version of the 3-door Thar, is reported to come in more than six variants, starting from the W3. While the lower variants will be offered with a 2WD setup, the mid-level and higher trims will get a 4WD drivetrain system. The entry-level variant will only be available with a 2.2L diesel engine, delivering 150bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. Read: New-Gen Mahindra Bolero, Bolero EV Launch Timeline

The higher trims, on the other hand, will be powered by the same 2.2L diesel engine, but with an output of 172bhp and 370Nm of torque. The off-road SUV can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The Thar Roxx petrol version will be equipped with a 2.0L turbo engine, borrowed from the Scorpio N. The gasoline unit will deliver a maximum power of 160bhp with 330Nm of torque in the lower variants, and 175bhp with 380Nm in the higher trims.
