The MG Windsor EV will be the next product launch from the British automaker in India. While its official launch date has yet to be revealed, the compact electric MPV is likely to go on sale in late September 2024. Ahead of its market arrival, the carmaker has released another teaser confirming the presence of reclining rear seats with faux leather upholstery featuring large honeycomb pattern stitching. The company claims that the rear seats can recline up to 135 degrees.

The rear seat occupants will also have a rear center armrest, a three-passenger rear seat with dedicated three-point seat belts, and rear AC vents. Since the MG Windsor EV is based on the Wuling Cloud EV, which is sold in select global markets, it is expected to come with features such as a floating touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, a two-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls, round door-mounted speakers, a 360-degree camera, a sunroof, and an ADAS suite.

On the exterior, the new MG electric MPV will feature a closed-off grille with an LED light bar above it, a sharply raked front windscreen, and all-LED connected headlamps. Design elements such as flush door handles, extended quarter glass, and full-width LED light bars at the rear contribute to its angular, SUV-like appearance.

Specifications of the India-spec Windsor have yet to be revealed. It is likely to come with two battery packs—a 37.9kWh and a 50.6kWh—delivering 360km and 460km of range, respectively. The setup will also include a permanent magnet synchronous motor generating a maximum power of 134bhp.

MG has already confirmed that its next offering will be priced under Rs 20 lakh. When launched, the MG Windsor EV won’t have any direct rivals in the country. The carmaker will make an official announcement for the Windsor on 15th August 2024.
