From Dharmana Prasada Rao to Alla Nani, one YSRCP leader after another is either leaving the party or stepping away from politics. This is the current political climate within YSRCP. Adding to this trend, the name of Dharmavaram YSRCP MLA Kethireddy Venkatarami Reddy has gone viral on social media, with reports suggesting that he, too, is planning to leave the party.
Kethireddy was elected to the AP Assembly twice—first in 2009 as a Congress candidate and then in 2019 as a YSRCP candidate. His defeat to BJP’s Satyakumar in the 2024 elections was a shocking blow to every YSRCP cadre, even upsetting KTR in Telangana. Kethireddy was well-known for his “Good Morning Dharmavaram” initiative, which helped him connect with people in the constituency.

However, TDP accused him of using this program to monitor and seize government lands. While most leaders met with YS Jagan after the election, some, including Kethireddy, have shown little interest in doing so.
Additionally, post-election videos on social media, in which Kethireddy’s analysis suggests that YS Jagan was solely responsible for the defeat, have cornered the YSRCP leader. Kethireddy also believes that YSRCP should have given CBN six months before criticizing his government. However, Jagan acted against Kethireddy’s advice.

According to sources, Kethireddy is planning to join TDP. With Paritala Sriram expected to be the TDP candidate from Rapthadu in the 2029 elections (assuming Paritala Sunitha does not contest), there may be a leadership vacancy in Dharmavaram for TDP. Reportedly, Kethireddy is eyeing this opportunity and wants to join TDP with hopes of representing Dharmavaram in 2029.
