The upcoming Mahindra Thar Roxx SUV has been revealed in a new white color scheme. The carmaker has also teased some of its key features, including a lockable rear differential, ventilated front seats, and hill descent control. The off-road SUV will also come packed with features such as a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a Harman Kardon sound system, automatic AC, push-button start, wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats, front and rear center armrests, and a panoramic sunroof.
Inside, the SUV will feature a dual-tone (black and white) theme with a dashboard accented by contrasting copper stitching. The all-new Thar Roxx will borrow the Level 2 ADAS suite from the XUV700, offering features such as adaptive cruise control, an autonomous emergency braking system, lane keep assist, and more.
In terms of safety, the new Mahindra off-road SUV will include multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera, hill hold and descent control, electronic stability control, and tire pressure monitoring system. A few design changes will be made to the Thar Roxx to differentiate it from its 3-door sibling. In fact, it will have more serious off-road capabilities than the 3-door Thar. Specifications of the Mahindra Thar Roxx will be revealed in the coming days. However, the SUV is reported to come with 160bhp, 2.0L turbo petrol, 175bhp, 1.2L turbo petrol, and 172bhp, 2.2L diesel engine options. There will be two gearboxes on offer – a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The SUV will come with RWD and 4WD configuration options, reserved for the lower and higher trims, respectively.
Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to unveil the Thar Roxx, along with its prices and details, on Independence Day – 15th August 2024. Select Mahindra dealers have already started accepting bookings for the upcoming lifestyle off-road SUV. With an estimated starting price of Rs 15 lakh, the Mahindra Thar Roxx will directly compete against the Force Gurkha 5-door and Maruti Suzuki Jimny.
