New Kia Carnival Launching On 3rd Oct – New Looks & Features

The new-gen Kia Carnival is ready to hit Indian showrooms on 3rd October 2024 alongside the EV9 electric SUV. Being a CBU (Completely Built-Up) unit, the model will initially attract heavy import taxes. Therefore, it’s estimated to be priced from Rs 50 lakh onwards. The carmaker will begin its local assembly at a later stage. If launched at this price point, the all-new Carnival won’t have any direct rivals in India.

In India, the MPV will continue to derive its power from a 2.2L, four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 201bhp. In global markets, it’s available with three engine options: a 1.6L petrol hybrid (242PS/367Nm), a 2.2L diesel (200PS/440Nm), and a 3.5L V6 petrol (287PS/353Nm). The transmission on offer is an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

The design and styling of the 2024 Kia Carnival feature a more upright stance with a heavily revised front fascia. The MPV sports a wide grille with chrome accents, L-shaped headlamps with DRLs, and a tweaked bumper with a small air intake in the lower section, surrounded by a faux brushed aluminium skid plate. The side profile is adorned with a large glasshouse, a textured panel around the rear quarter glass, sliding rear doors, and larger alloy wheels. You will also notice an L-shaped theme at the rear section, with the taillamps connected via an LED light strip. It also gets a rear bumper with matte black plastic and faux silver trim.

The all-new Carnival has a minimalistic interior theme with 12.3-inch dual displays at the center. The MPV also comes with a HUD (Head-Up Display), updated AC and audio controls placed below the central screen, front and rear dash cameras, a digital rearview mirror, a rotary drive selector, and an updated digital key. Globally, the MPV is offered in three seating configurations – 7, 9, and 11 seats. It’s yet to be seen which layouts will be offered in India.
